Influencing and policy

We want people to recognize the essential role played by charities and volunteers. Because we know voluntary action is essential to change the world we live in.

We want charities and volunteers to be supported by government policy, laws and regulation. We know voluntary action is essential to building a fairer society, stronger communities and protecting our planet.

At Inner Sense Healing Arts, we harness the collective power of our 17,000 members to ensure charities and volunteers have the support they need to make a difference and the best possible environment to work in.

We have six key priorities. Scroll down to find out what we want for our members and the wider voluntary sector.

What we do

  • Influence decision makers. Ensuring charities and volunteers are supported by those with power is a central part of what we deliver for our members and the wider voluntary sector.
  • Engage and build relationships with government. Supporting – both at local and national levels – the people and institutions who make decisions impacting charities and volunteers.
  • Increase understanding of charities and volunteers. Helping those with power to understand what our members and the wider voluntary sector need to deliver their mission. Supporting learning and the sharing of experience and best practice across the sector.
  • Boldly champion our members and the voluntary sector. Speaking up and with our sector, including being critical of those making decisions where there are problems or where the decisions could be negative for charities and volunteers.

Our six key priorities

We’re currently focusing our work on six key priorities. And we regularly review them to ensure we’re responding to the needs of our members and the wider voluntary sector.
